My Biggest Management Problem

As many other college students, my biggest problem is time management.Unlike high school where teachers give us assignments and collect it the day after, in college, Profs just hand out syllabus and we have to manage our own classwork. Suddenly, i feel like i have less in-class time, fewer homework to hand in and a great amount of freedom. Besides taking 5 classes per semester,i also get a part time job which i have to work 20 hours a week. Then i often find myself running out of time. it just seems to me that there's just never enough time in the day to get everything done. i not only have to meet the assignments' dateline, but also have to read a lot of books and prepare for exams.
in order to manage others, we have to manage ourself first. As the semester going on, i want to gain some knowledge about how to use time effectively. as a manager,we have to know what to work on and when it has to be done. it is a very important skill that we must to have in order to achieve anything. hopefully, at the end of semester, i will have a very good planing and controlling skill.

  1. I have a similar problem like you. I originally registered for five classes and i had to drop one class because i could not handle all the them.
Besides that i work apprx. 20-24/ week so i feel like i have a lot in my plate. But you should do whatever is right for you. Good luck..

  2. I also have time management problem. I feel stress, too. I think we have to follow the management process, planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. We have to learn how to make up a perfect schedule to do things without in a rush. I believe you can handle your study and work at the same time if you follow that 4 steps. GOOD LUCK.!!!

  3. I also have trouble to manage my time. Even though I do not have part-time job, I still feel not enough time to study and do homework. I think that is because I do not use time efficiently. I love to use time for relaxing and playing; at the same time, however, I forget that I also need time for studying. Therefore, I think I have to change, and the first step is planning what to do everyday. Because you have part-time job, you better have a schedule too. NO pain no gain. Good luck!

  4. wow, another time issue. honestly, i clicked on a couple of peoples' URL and 90 percent relate to this topic, not to mention my blog as well. in terms of school, there's a reason why professors give out a syllabus on the first day of class; so we are cautious of what to expect and what to do in order to achieve a good grade. in essence, your plan is already outlined for you. all you need to do is study that syllabus and make sure you know what assignments fall around what dates as oppose to getting smacked in the face with the assignment a couple days prior to deadline. this way you know what days u can request off from work and clear your schedule as school assignments should be your main focus. time is everything, and if you manage it efficiently, you can't go wrong. good luck.
